The Greek Australian Cultural League (GACL) proudly celebrated the successful opening of the Antipodean Palette exhibition on Saturday, July 13, 2024, bringing together artists, art enthusiasts, and community members for a memorable cultural event.

The formal proceedings began with emcee Vassilia Hatjieleftheriou, who welcomed guests and highlighted the GACL’s ongoing commitment to promoting visual arts. She emphasized the significance of this annual event for the organization, participating artists, and the broader Greek Australian community.

Representing GACL President Cathy Alexopoulos, who was overseas at the time, Vice President Andrea Garivaldis addressed the audience, acknowledging the pivotal role the Cultural League plays in enriching the cultural landscape of the Greek Australian community.

Exhibition coordinator Frixos Ioannides also spoke, offering insights into the history of Antipodean Palette since its inception in 2011. He shared how the exhibition has successfully brought together art lovers and artists alike, creating a valuable platform for showcasing creativity and fostering artistic expression.

He commended the participating artists for their dedication and professionalism in preparing and delivering their works on time, ensuring a seamless setup for the opening ceremony. Additionally, he recognized the tremendous effort involved in organizing the exhibition, from coordinating interviews and announcements to preparing press releases — all handled effectively by members of the Administrative Committee.

In his closing remarks, Frixos expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the exhibition’s preparation and wished the artists continued success in their creative journeys.
